Chqbook Review

Daily purchases now made easy with SBI Card PRIME. Simply wave your card at a secure reader to transact. In the quest for finding your destination for unparalleled convenience and ease of living the lifestyle of your dreams, SBI Card Prime is the best thing that you may come across. By far, it is one of those credit cards that is filled to the brim with exciting features and exquisite benefits.

  • As has been stated, SBI Card Prime is indeed a prime example of a credit card that provides for immense comfort and luxury when it comes to procuring goods and services with ease
  • It has a welcome gift e-voucher worth ₹3,000 from any of the following brands, viz., Yatra, Hush Puppies/Bata, Marks and Spencers, Pantaloons or Shoppers Stop
  • Other such lifestyle deals include an e-voucher by Pantaloons or Yatra worth 7,000 rupees for spends of ₹5 lakhs
  • Also, for quarterly spends of ₹50,000, Pizza Hut offers an e-voucher that is worth a thousand rupees
  • All these incentivizing benefits, along with the relatively affordable joining and annual fees, make this a card that is advantageous to own

  • Although the joining fee and the admission fee are more or less affordable, those who have a low paying job would prefer taking a credit card that costs less to maintain and renew
  • Also, SBI Card Prime is for the most part, in the strict classification schema, a traditional lifestyle credit card that rewards the cardowner for taking certain lifestyle choices; though it has very minor travel features which we shall mention later on. It can be summarized that since it is for the most part a lifestyle card, it is preferable for people with more purchasing power to possess this card, which makes it out of reach for most individuals
  • Another disadvantage that might be mentioned is that it has different slabs for different categories of applicants. For example, salaried individuals need to be at least 21 years old while self-employed individuals need to be at least 25 years old. On the other hand, pensioners have to be at the very least be 40 years old to apply for the credit card. This non-uniformity in application criteria further complicates the matter when it comes to choosing this card

Joining Perks

    • The only common thing among all the three different eligibility categories is that the maximum age at which a person could apply for the SBI Card Prime is set at 70 years
    • The minimum age at which an applicant can apply for the credit card varies, and it depends upon the financial source of the applicant. That is, if a person receives a salary, they need to be 21 years old to apply
    • If the person is self-employed, they need to be 25 years old
    • If a person is a pensioner, they need to be 40 years old in order to apply
    • The applicants must be citizens of India and must produce the requisite documents while submitting the application

    Documents Required

    • A proof of identity and a proof of residence. Generally speaking, many identification documents in India like Aadhar, the PAN Card or a Voter ID Card are sufficient to establish both
    • The bank statements of the applicant in the previous six months
    • Their salary slip or their letter of employment from the place of work
    • For the applicants who are self-employed, they need to produce:
    • Proof of identity and proof of residence such as an Aadhar Card, PAN Card or Voter ID Card
    • Bank statements for the previous six months
    • A statement of profit and loss or the final balance sheet from the business that the applicant owns
